Jeff Rector

Horse Trainer

Jeff grew up in Kansas City, Missouri, and discovered his love for horses at an early age. While most kids watched cartoons, Jeff spent much of his time watching Westerns just to admire the horses. In 8th grade, he convinced his grandpa (affectionately called Pawpaw) to buy him a horse. Jeff soon stopped playing all youth sports like basketball and soccer so he could focus on learning how to ride. Every day after school, he went straight to Benjamin Stables, where his horse was boarded, to ride and learn.

At the stables, he met the owner, Howard Benjamin, who introduced him to Bronc Rumford, owner of a successful rodeo production company. Jeff soon landed a summer job with the company, taking care of horses and learning the ropes. That job eventually led him to his dream job as a Professional Rodeo Pick-Up Man. Jeff has spent most of his life traveling around the country working at rodeos. In his free time, he enjoys attending his son’s sporting events, checking out concerts, and traveling with his girlfriend, Nicole.
